Just Three Words

It is just three words. Three words can change everything. Three words can end employment. You are fired. Three words can change a relationship. I love you. Three words can create a family. We are pregnant. In our lives, we have lots and lots of words coming at us, running through our heads, and confusing us. Yet, life changing realities can be shared in just three words. Three words can encourage. You are great, or three words can tear down, you are stupid.

We use a lot more than three words, but what do you express with your words? Do you express your faith in God? Do you bless others? Do you share your heart? God wants us to make our words count rather than just throw them out there without thought or reason.

In the book of James, it says: It takes only a spark to start a forest fire. The tongue is like a spark. It is an evil power that dirties the rest of the body and sets a person’s entire life on fire with flames that come from hell itself.

The verse from James 3:6 is intense and true. What we share matters. Take time to consider wisely your words. Take time for just three words of blessing for others. Take three words and turn a situation around. Take three words and offer faith, hope, and love.

This article is an off shoot from Toni Birdsong’s article “100 Three Word Posts For Online Outreach”. She offers some wonderful examples of encouragement, love, and hope in just three words. Thank you, Toni. God is love. Seize this day.
